Frames Data Web Service Upgraded to REST Interface

New York, NY – Frames Data has announced a new and improved web service that will deliver data to integrated software companies and partners. Their previous service used an older SOAP interface, whereas the new service will be a REST interface. REST, which stands for Representational State Transfer, is a newer and more flexible technology that results in a faster response time and better overall performance.

“We made the decision to upgrade our web service with our subscribers in mind,” says Tom Doyle, Director of Marketing & Key Accounts at Frames Data. “We constantly seek to improve our offerings and provide a better service to our customers.”

The web service will also be used later this winter as the platform for Frames Data Canada. “We knew we needed to make changes to accommodate our upcoming Canada product, so it seemed like an opportunity to also implement this change at the same time,” adds Doyle. “This way any new products developed by Frames Data will be based on the newest, fastest technology for data delivery, and of course without the use of physical discs or clunky downloads.”

The legacy web service will still be maintained for existing integrations, but all new integrations will use the improved service.  “The REST web service is already available for software developers who are interested in integration.” According to Doyle, “One integration is already completed with several more in the works.”
