Newark, NJ – Frames Data, the optical industry's authority on ophthalmic frame information, and EyeTcare, an EHR and practice-management software provider headquartered in Orange County, CA, today announced the successful integration of Frames Data’s Immediate Data Access (IDA) service into EyeTcare's EyePegasus platform.

EyepegasusTHUMBBeginning immediately, EyePegasus customers with an active Frames Data IDA subscription can browse and import thousands of ophthalmic frames—complete with UPC codes, sizes, colors, and pricing—directly within their practice-management interface. From there it can be used to calculate retail rates, print price tags, submit orders and claims, and more.

By tapping into Frames Data’s daily web-service updates, eyecare professionals no longer need to spend time hand entering frame information or wait for downloads or physical media to refresh their frame catalogs. “Daily updates enable eyecare professionals to add new frames into their inventory as soon as they like,” said Michele Aguirre, Director of Customer Relations at EyePegasus. “Everything is delivered online, so there’s no downtime or manual intervention required.”

In addition to real-time catalog access, the integration supports automated updates—a mandatory feature for all new Frames Data partnerships. The system monitors for modifications to existing frame entries—such as changes in pricing or dimensions—and alerts the user to the changes and applies them programmatically. According to Tom Doyle, Director of Product and Sales for Frames Data, “Having frame changes handled by the software is a huge benefit. Frame information changes frequently; this integration delivers a painless way to stay current without spending hours on database upkeep.”

Karoline Souza, Co-Founder and COO at EyeTcare, emphasized the impact on inventory management: “Maintaining the most accurate and up-to-date frame information—especially pricing—is mission-critical for eyecare practices. Our integration with Frames Data IDA empowers users with a fast, reliable, and intuitive interface that keeps their inventory fresh and competitive.”

Souza continued, "In fact, when there are changes to a frame that's already recorded in inventory, EyePegasus alerts the user with a pop-up box, and gives them the choice to update the record."

Doyle agrees on the importance of staying up-to-date. "Staying on top of pricing in particular is pretty important when you consider how much is driven by the published wholesale price. Retail rates, managed care claims...these are things that directly impact the bottom line, and EyePegasus users now have a tool to ensure they are not leaving money on the table."
