Are you updating OfficeMate with the latest SPEX UPC but can't see new frames or even entire new brands?
Don’t worry! This is a common problem with a simple fix, but it requires following OfficeMate's installation instructions to the letter.
We’ll take you through the installation process and go over some important details to keep in mind. So if you’re not using Officemate, feel free to move along. But if you are an OfficeMate user, please check out this quick FAQ.
Q: I heard Oakley and Prodesign are now listed in Frames Data. Why can’t I see them on my SPEX UPC update in OfficeMate?
A: You may have skipped a step in installing the latest update. Try again, being sure to follow these steps (click to enlarge picture):
Q: Can I load the entire database every time my SPEX UPC update comes in?
A: You can, but you really shouldn’t. This is also why you shouldn’t click “Select All” when updating OfficeMate. When you load the entire database every time an update comes in, OfficeMate eventually stops recognizing newly added frames.
Q: How do I clear all unused data on OfficeMate?
A: If you have been habitually loading the entire database every time you receive the latest SPEX and are now not able to see new brands, you might need to contact OfficeMate and ask them to clear out information that is not relevant to you.
Q: I followed these steps but I still can’t find the frames I’m looking for. What can I do?
A: If you are using the On Demand download, first ensure that you have the SPEX files placed correctly on your computer or server. If they are not positioned correctly, Officemate may actually be loading old data files over and over instead of the new SPEX data you tried to import. For more information, see the Officemate User Guide on our Support Page.
If you still can’t seem to find the frame information you need after installing SPEX, try pulling up the frame on Frames Data Online to see if it is listed at all. Our website is updated on a daily basis and access is included in your subscription. If you do see it on our website, it could mean that the particular frame you’re looking for missed the cut-off of for the latest SPEX, but will be present in the next update. If it is not on Frames Data Online, then either the frame isn't listed in Frames Data or the frame won’t be introduced until a future date.
